Discover a better way to manage your business

My Accounts used to completely frustrate me and as a result I had to discover an easier way which I want to share with you. Most managers I know in small companies want to devote their working day to targeting customers and selling as opposed to doing bookkeeping. Bookkeeping is a ‘chore’ that very few people enjoy doing but should be performed on a consistent basis to avoid problems.

I asked my bookkeeper for direction and he persuaded me to use Sage Software which turned out to be a small business accounting software package. Without even looking at reviews of the software I blindly went ahead and bought the cheapest package I could find. This was arguably one of the worst mistakes I made as the software turned out to be really hard to get to grips with and use. OK my first piece of wisdom is that whenever you see the words accounting software tread carefully as it definitely means the designer is making the assumption you understand a substantial amount about accounting.

Just like me small company managers understand their craft and the product or service they sell and not accounting but in my case I was driven to devote time to finding a solution that would work for me. The second piece of advice I want to share with you is my discovery of a really useful and free system called salesorder.com.
